Following St Paul

St Paul, during his missionary journeys, spent a certain part of his life living and teaching in Greece, traveling in many different areas of the country. From a half-day tour to a 7-8 days tour you can follow the steps of St Paul in Greece, from Athens and Corinth till Thessaloniki, Phillippi, and Kavala in northern Greece, combining it with many of the other important sites and monuments on the way.

1. Half-day tour to Athens

After the sightseeing tour and the visit to the Acropolis, the half-day tour will continue taking you to the Areopagus (Acts 17:22) where Apostle Paul preached the new religion, the word of the Christian God as well as to the Ancient Athenian Agora.

2. Half-day tour to Corinth

Visit one of the most important ancient cities of Greece, a place that experienced a period of great prosperity during the Roman period. Saint Paul arrived in the city in the mid-1st c. A.D. stayed here for almost 18 months lodging and working with the Jewish tentmakers Aquila and Priscilla.

After Corinth, Saint Paul left for Ephesus, having established a strong church in the city. Even after his departure, he kept in contact with the Christian community, addressing some of his most famous epistles, the Epistles to the Corinthians.

3. Full-day tour to Athens and Corinth

4. A 5-6 days tour, crossing central and northern Greece visiting Meteora, Veroia, Vergina, Thessaloniki, Kavala, and Philippi.

A tailored-made tour for those who want to visit Philippi, where St. Paul preached his first evangelical sermon and baptized the first Christians in Europe. Visit the ”Baptismal” site, where Lydia was baptized, as the first European woman, and the secret crypt where Paul was imprisoned. Visit the town of Veroia, one of Paul’s beloved towns where he stayed and preached for many days. We will visit the marble ”Vima of Apostle Paul”, the place he used to preach as well as his church. Visit and explore Thessaloniki, where Paul preached and wrote two epistles to the Ancient Thessalonians, during the winters of 49-50 AD.

A tour which gives you the chance to travel to a big part of the country, with so many different landscapes changing all the time and of course the chance to visit so many more different places and sites on the way. Places like Meteora with the Byzantine monasteries built on the top of massive rocks, Vergina to visit the Macedonian Kings tombs (one of them belonging to Philippos the father of Alexander the Great), the beautiful city of Kavala and its fortress, and especially Thessaloniki, the second larger city of Greece.
